Continuing with the series, our next stop was the ECE paintball Field in North Ft. Lauderdale. Nine teams showed up for this event and we brought six of our D3 team players,. DeVito, Ale, Alex, Jorge, Fernando and Conner made it happen, winning all but one game in the prelims, the one game was a decision on ours and Outlaw to draw the final game as we were both in! Again as in the previous events Ripperz, Outlaw and Devious made it to the semi's along with Infussed. In the semi Devious did not drop a game making it into the finals in first place and facing the Ripperz. The final was a best two out of three and although we dropped the first game???? The next two were won easily by the best team of the event! Gondratulation to the Devious team on their first place finish!
Coming into Tampa we would not of expected to do as poorly as we did, but with everything that could possibly go wrong going wrong our 4 and 4 was not that bad. Miami Devious went into this event down two very strong players and we had only a week to get replacements. I would like to thank Jimmy and George for "guesting" with us on such short notice! Another of our starters was sick with a stomach virus and another one was playing with a hairline fracture on his wrist. With all this going on, our goal was just to maintain a decent ranking.
We also introduced our D3 team in Tampa, Miami Devious CRU made their daub and went 3 and 5, finishing in 35. Devious CRU played well but the penalties got the better of them. Four penalties in eight games will never work. We will be working with the team to get them where they need to be before Boston.
In a closing note: NPPL has always been known for their professional refs, but at this event the calls were very inconsistent from one side of the field to the other, no one checking players ID’s and we witnessed refs reacting to spectators making hit calls even when they were wearing opposing teams jerseys, this in the past would have been ignored or the person would have been warned to shut up. Hopefully the NPPL will correct these problems and be once again the event the real ballers want to play!
NPPL Super 7HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA.March 24 - 26, 2006
Who would of known that 6 and 2 would not get you into the “Sunday Club”, but with division 2 going to 70 teams everything changed. The team played assume despite paint related problems.
Friday started fine with the team winning their first game with 97 points. As the starting time for our second game approached, (4:06pm) appropriately on the Empire field the temperature took a dump and along with the temp went our paint. The easterly winds coming off of the water dropped the temperature to 54 deg in 10 min. With five (blenders) guns down at the start of the game we were doomed. The only two players able to shoot killed four but were unable to close out the game in time, causing a stalemate, and as things are in paintball this was the game we needed to get into the quarters. SUNNY CALIFORNIA MY ASS!
We quickly changed to our mid grade paint and won the next game with 94 points, our guns were still hurting from the soup, but they shot good enough to win. Closing out the night was Naught X Nature, who turned off our light, we only got 3 points.
Saturday we came ready to play, our guns were cleaned and our paint was on target. Andy, who sleeps with the enemy, put together a great game plan and the rest of the team executed the plan perfectly winning all four of our Saturday games. JT (Justin Werner) our newest addition to the team played great along with our regular boys, Derek Blackwell, Phil Luis, Justin Sigler, Jose Sigler, and Julio Pasos.
I, Miguel Sigler, of course get no credit for the good things, only for the crap! We had a good time at HB, the people were different and the girls were HOT, HOT, HOT! See all you losers in Tampa and get ready to get shoot in the face. I will be presenting our new D3 team “Devious Cru” in Tampa so look for the boys and say "ola".
ER Paintball Park Hollywood, Fl
The story of 2 Justin's and 1 DeVito. Starting very shaky, this team put together with players that had not played together in the past, was being called the sand baggers of the event. The three players were within the rules of the event and I only put the team at Art request to help Str8killas generate interest and expand the event. There were plenty of teams capable of winning this event. The team from Spray Paint played very strong and I thought they were the team to beat! Ultimate Paintball also had an experienced team, but they did not make the cut, and there was a team that really surprised us by making it into the finals and finishing in 4th place ( sorry guys can not remember your team name).
Over all the tournament staff did a very good job, the paint prices were very far and the prizes were great. Our team played less than desirable in the prelims, almost getting knocked out, but in the finals the boys put it all together and got 1st place. We will be back for the next events at ER and next time I will bring some of my midgets so that there won't be any accusations.
Thanks Art and see you next time!
CENTRAL FLORIDA PAINTBALL
Feb. 05, 2006
First event for the year and we could not have picked a better one! CFP Lakeland is a great venue, plenty of near field parking, three large air ball fields, very slide-able grass, and fills to 4500. Each field had no less than eight refs and the concession stand was offering plenty of food at very reasonable prices and for those of you that like wood fields, they even had that.
The very cold day started out as usual for us, dropping the first game after we got a 1-4-1 pulled, loosing to Laser Tag Superstars and getting only 8 points. The PMI Premium paint shot great although the weather was not the best in the morning. Our second match against Draxxus Gold on the DYE field was a bit better, we scored 78 points out of a possible 80. The third game played on the new 2006 X ball field was our best, maxing out Florida Rampage, with 80 points. Game 4 against CFK Misery was a good one, they took control of the game fast and got the flag pull, but we pulled it together and got the win and 54 points. We won our last two games against Hi-Tec C 78 points and Zero Effect 76 points giving us a total of 374 points and a fourth place transfer into the finals.
The finals consisted of ECE Factory, Laser Tag Superstar, Demolition, Miami Devious, and Victory A. All the teams in the finals were excellent, played hard and deserved to be there. Our first game in the finals was against Laser Tag and we needed to give back a little punishment. We took the first three matches and only needed 2 kills against Demolition in our last game for 1st place. Demolition came at us hard winning the game but loosing two players and the 1st place spot.
We were highly impressed by the event and we will certainly be back for more. The organizers and referring crew did a great job and the local teams made us feel at home. We will encourage local teams in our area to attend and hopefully we will help CFP grow their event, they definitely deserve it!

NPPL Super 7 MIAMI, FL.Nov. 4-6, 2005
Miami, our home town, we went into this event with mixed feelings. We wanted to do good but we also new that playing our first Division 2 tournament would not be easy.
Friday Nov. 4th started out as bad as anyone could imagine, dropping our first two games to our Semi Pro teams, Docs Raiders & Epic Archon. After the second loss I tried to pump up the team, reminding them that we are suppose to loose to the Semi Pro teams. Next on the schedule was The Edge Kids a D2 team that we should be able to play with, unfortunately continuing with our perfect record for the day we lost this one also. Fortunately our last scheduled team for the day was Strategy Plus, a D3 team and a must win for us in the NPPL field, however duo too time restraint the game was postponed til Saturday morning. This turned out to be good and bad, we could now go home and regroup for the next day, but it also meant that we would have to get up at 4:30am to make it to the field on time, as the makeup games were going to start at 6:00am
Saturday Nov. 5th, early rise and a little tuff getting everything ready for the first game in the dark. Registration was not ready with the updated schedule and I was freaking out because we had no paint and the paint trailers were still locked up. As if a different team had shown up to play, we mowed Strategy Plus and continued the day without loosing one game. Thrust Allstars, Torq 2, United and Stoned Assassins, all went down in that order, and with 515 points we were confident we had made the cut. We had to wait for the afternoon session to be completed in order to find out if we were one of the sixteen teams to make it into the quarters, but the wait was worth it, transferring in at 13th.
Sunday Nov. 6th, and we are in the Sunday Club. In the Quarters, we beat, Vatos Locos Counterstrike (96), and TCP Machine (94) so all we needed was a stalemate against LTZ Destiny to insure us a spot in the Semi Finals. Justin and Phil locked down the game, getting us the stalemate and a spot into the Semi Finals in 4th. Transferring in, in fourth, meant that we had to play the first place finisher X-Factor heads up, best 2 out of 3. X-Factor took us in three and went on to win Div 2, we on the other hand took home the fourth place trophy, NOT BAD FOR OUR FIRST DIV 2 TOURNAMENT!
